The need to reach America's next generation is urgent, and the local church, functioning as Christ’s Body in the world, is the most effective means |
| |
 |
A cross-denominational, cooperative effort can multiply high-impact churches to reverse the demise of the church in North America |
| |
 |
ELI believes young leaders, starting missional churches to reach their generation, can make the church a force for change in our postmodern world. |
| |
|
We envision, equip and empower emerging leaders to plant innovative churches
throughout America by partnering together with like-minded churches to pray for and work
toward a unified movement of new church multiplication |
| |
With its innovative approach, ELI serves future pastors and their churches that want to participate in church-planting in a significant way with: |
| |
| |
- In-residence leadership training at a church effectively reaching postmodern-thinking people
- A personalized curriculum of development that prepares the new leaders for the critical first years of starting a church "out of the culture"
- Weekly mentoring sessions with a successful Lead Pastor at the training church
- Exposure to the inner workings of an effective and evangelistically passionate church
- Assistance with seed money to insure a high-impact launch for the new church
- Access to a network of seasoned church-planters and other emerging leaders who support and encourage each other for the long haul
- Participation in a collaborative network of churches committed to helping churches multiply.
|
ELI strives to remove the burdens and barriers that keep young leaders
from successfully planting churches to reach the next generation. |
| |
|
| |
- There is an immediate need to plant thousands of new churches in America to directly address generational cultural change
- Churches aimed at the next generation require a contextualized approach for conveying the gospel message in order to form a church "out of the culture"
- Future church pastors with the gift of leadership are desperately needed to mobilize the church as a fully-functioning Body in our postmodern environment.

"The hope for the resuscitation of the church lies in the hands of its future leaders. We need thousands of churches with a come-as-you-are culture, following the Scriptures under the Spirit's guidance, formed out of the messy, unchurched culture of our postmodern context."
(John Burke, No Perfect People Allowed)
"The Christian Church has stagnated, largely due to its comfort with routines and rituals that are neither challenging nor relevant for millions of people. The Christian body is seeking visionary leaders who will make the faith more vital and compelling. Absent such leadership the Church in America will continue to lose its influence on people's lives and in our society."
